This project was a collaborative effort between AWC, Cheniere LNG, and Jefferson County aimed at improving community access and facilities. The primary goal was to provide accessible and adequate parking along with constructing a new boat ramp at Keith Lake. The project became necessary when a nearby construction project inadvertently cut off access to the existing boat ramp.

In addition, AWC designed and implemented significant upgrades to the parking lot and road infrastructure, ensuring a seamless experience for visitors. The project included the construction of a three-lane boat ramp equipped with finger piers, the restoration of over 2,600-feet of access road, and the addition of a two-acre parking lot. These improvements were designed to accommodate increased traffic and provide better facilities for recreational users. The construction site, located in a marshy area, presented significant difficulties for construction due to poor soil strata. Stabilizing the construction area was a major concern, requiring innovative engineering solutions to ensure the longevity and safety of the new structures.

The project’s completion provided much more than just infrastructure improvements; it enhanced the quality of life for the local community. The new and improved access to Keith Lake offers a better facility for recreational activities, fostering a greater sense of community and promoting outdoor engagement.
