The Woodworth Boulevard Streetscape Improvement Project involved substantial infrastructure enhancements, including the installation of 5,500 linear feet of new asphalt pavement, 2,500 linear feet of storm sewer pipe, 9,200 square yards of concrete sidewalks, and 6,900 square yards of brick paving. The project also included planting 250 new trees, installing 95 decorative light poles with matching brick ledge concrete pedestals, and constructing a new 24-foot pavilion for outdoor events at the Lakeshore Drive/Seawall area, resulting in a comprehensive streetscape transformation.

The project addressed deficiencies in the initial design that failed to adequately consider public safety for pedestrians and cyclists, particularly poorly designed pedestrian crossings that did not meet ADA requirements. Improvements included high-visibility crossings, protected intersections with curb ramps, and sidewalks on both sides of the street, significantly reducing risk for pedestrians and enhancing safety for all users. Coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, civil engineers, electrical engineers, landscape architects, and irrigation experts, AWC delivered a cohesive and innovative streetscape design that provides the City of Port Arthur with a prominent, beautiful thoroughfare compliant with ADA standards and accommodating automobiles, bicyclists, and pedestrians alike.
