WATER SYSTEM UPGRADES
Port Arthur, Texas
AWC evaluated the existing water system of Port Arthur, TX and presented a model for review and assessment of needed upgrades.
Upon completion of a Citywide Water System Hydraulic Model, we recommended a robust level of improvements including a 20 mgd upgrade to the surface water treatment plant, 2.5 million gallon elevated storage tank, and 21 miles of 16-inch and 24-inch diameter transmission mains. One segment of the 24-inch main needed to cross the US Army Corps of Engineers Hurricane Protection Levee and the planned 48 feet deep Sabine-Neches Canal. AWC designed all facilities and managed the construction of improvements. The total cost for the infrastructure program is approximately $100 Million.
