  • Job Description

    Arceneaux Wilson & Cole LLC (AWC) is a Texas-based multi-disciplined civil engineering firm located in Port Arthur. Since 2014, the firm has provided engineering study, consulting, planning, design, surveying, and construction management services to governmental agencies, industrial corporations, municipalities and private concerns in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

    The Survey Party Chief is a working supervisory position.  This position requires a background in boundary, topographic and construction surveys.  The Survey Party Chief will work with and coordinate efforts with the Survey Coordinator, Survey Manager, and Project Managers on staff.  This position will coordinate and supervise the day to day survey field work, keep records of crew activities and survey data, observes field survey operational activities and makes recommendations for improvements, interprets construction plans, maintains survey instruments and equipment, ensures compliance with safety program, keep crews on schedule, prepare paperwork at the end of each job.

  • Qualifications

    • Has comprehensive knowledge of electronic data collection systems, ensuring all data is accurate, complete, and downloaded on a daily basis.
    • Performs the necessary calculations to provide field checks on data acquired.
    • Applies knowledge of plane trigonometry and plane coordinate computations to field survey problems.
    • Knowledge of survey techniques used in making cross section, profile, location, topographic, and construction layout surveys.
    • Has comprehensive understanding and ability to operate all typical instrumentation found on a field data collection crew to include electronic total stations, electronic levels, GPS, HDS, and other equipment deemed necessary.
    • Interprets fractional and metes and bounds legal descriptions.
    • Assists in conducting performance evaluations and reviews for supervised personnel.
    • Ensures that survey crew conducts itself in a professional, responsible manner at all times.
    • Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
    • Ability to communicate orally with the public face-to-face one-on-one settings.
    • Ability to produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper English sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.
